SEAMEO and MOE Thailand Join Hands to Strenghten Capacity of Principals to Meet International Standard The Southeast Asian Ministers of Education Organization (SEAMEO) in collaboration with the Ministry of Education, Thailand organized an integrated special training course for educational leaders, titled IIDEA-SEAMEO Capacity Building Programme for 21st Century Educational Leaders on 5-19 July 2010 at NIDTEP, Thailand. The programme aims to build capacity of school principals and educational administrators to meet the international standard by improving essential skills in the three areas: 1) English Language 2) ICT in Education and 3) Leadership. Moreover, the training course intends to prepare educational leaders for the ASEAN Community in year 2015. The three SEAMEO Regional Centres: 1) the SEAMEO Regional Language Centre (SEAMEO RELC) in Singapore, 2) SEAMEO Regional Centre for Vocational and Technical Education (SEAMEO VOCTECH) in Brunei Darussalam and 3) SEAMEO Regional Centre for Educational Innovation and Technology (SEAMEO INNOTECH) in Philippines were invited to conduct this 15 days integrated training program. The first batch of training course was attended by 28 school principals from Thailand, Lao PDR and Cambodia.
