ChildFund Laos is the representative office of ChildFund Australia – an independent and non-religious international development organisation that works to reduce or eliminate poverty for children in the developing world.
Vacancy: Project Team Leader
The post holder (PTL) is responsible for leadership, management and supervision of all aspects of the Nonghet Child-Friendly Education Promotion (NoCEP) project in Xieng Khouang Province. The project’s overall objective is to improve access to high quality, child-friendly complete primary education and quality community non-formal education that responds to the development priorities of children and their communities. The post is Nonghet-based and full-time. Standard office hours run from 0800 – 1630, however, some work outside these hours will be required. Travel to the coordination office in Vientiane will also be required approximately 6 times per year.
Required Qualifications, Experience and Personal Qualities
- University qualification in management, education or development
- Good understanding and experience of project management
- Fluency in Lao with some English skills an advantage
- Strong IT skills and familiarity with MS Office, MS Windows and internet applications
- Strong and demonstrated teamwork, interpersonal and conflict resolution skills
- Excellent communication skills with an ability to relate to people from a range of backgrounds in a relevant and effective manner
- Strong management skills and experience of managing staff performance
- Strong facilitation skills and experience of working in rural communities
- A minimum of 5 years experience of project management with an INGO
- Strong written skills and experience of producing high quality project reports
- Experience of participatory community development methodologies
- Experience of working with children/youth
- Mature, dynamic, hardworking and able to manage multiple priorities
- Willing and able to undertake work-related travel locally and internationally
- Flexibility and willing to support the overall goals of ChildFund Australia in the Lao PDR
- Able to maintain confidentiality and committed for a minimum 2 year period
Remuneration and Benefits
