Beautiful Santorini & the archaeological dig of Akoteri, found in the 1980's, was an advanced civilization back in 1,500 BCE. An outpost of Crete at the time, it boasted a plumbing & sewer system (Rome would copy this over 1,000 years later) & was an affluent society involved in Mediterranean trade
