Thai mother tongue-based multilingual education planning curriculum and learning

MOTHER TONGUE-BASED MULTILINGUAL EDUCATION: PLANNING CURRICULUM AND LEARNING MATERIALS FOR MTB-MLE PROGRAMS IN THE FORMAL EDUCATION SYSTEM, 11 October – 5 November 2010

Course Overview: Students in this course will apply learning theories and language acquisition theories to the process of developing curriculum and instructional materials in mother tongue based multilingual education (formal education system) in non-dominant language communities. The following topics will be covered:

1. Curriculum and instructional plans that enable students in MTB MLE programs to achieve government competencies
2. Teaching and learning materials that support concept attainment and language acquisition
3. Assessment tools appropriate to MTB MLE primary grades
4. Essential components of teacher training for MTB MLE
