The Australian Centre for Education (ACE) in Siem Reap is looking to recruit a full-time Lead Teacher for its General English Program (GEP), starting in early January 2011. ACE’s Siem Reap school has a thriving student population in excess of 900, and a multi-national teaching team of around 20 members. The successful candidate will be required to work in a small and very closely knit co-ordination team. The position is suitable for an enthusiastic, dedicated and flexible professional wanting to make an initial move into a supervisory role. Duties and responsibilities include: •teaching 18-20 hours a week on the GEP •mentoring the GEP teaching staff and assisting with their ongoing professional development •carrying out teacher observations / appraisals •assisting with teacher, class and test scheduling •assisting with placement testing •overseeing and maintaining the GEP teaching resources •assisting with student enrolment procedures. | ||||
Qualifications | ||||
•an undergraduate degree (essential) •Cambridge CELTA, Trinity CertTESOL or internationally recognised equivalent (essential) •at least 3 years teaching experience in a reputable English language school •experience of teaching a wide range of proficiency levels, including upper-intermediate and IELTS preparation •excellent organizational skills •willingness to share ideas •willingness to work flexible hours Some experience in a supervisory role is desirable but initial training and ongoing support will be provided by the Branch Manager. | ||||
