Job Description
KAPE (Kampuchea Action for Education) is a local NGO working primarily in the formal education sector. We have worked in Kampong Cham since 1999. Our present program focuses on improving the quality of education in Cambodia. KAPE is currently seeking Cambodian applicants for the position of Technical Program Officer (TPO) – For 6 months, with possible extension for up to 2 years, depending on confirmation of continued funding.
JOB LOCATION: Kompong Cham, with frequent travel to O-Raing Ov & Dambae Districts
Coordination
- Work under the technical direction of Project Team Leader for the Re-write the Future Project, funded by Save the Children Australia.
- Work to carry out the program work plan and meet objectives of each technical component.
- Provide oversight to local government counterparts in the implementation of all technical activities.
Technical
- Provide technical support to schools and communities as it relates to activities in the project.
- Provide training to government counterparts, school personnel, and community members in all areas relating to the interventions in the project work plan.
- Provide capacity building support to community groups in development of School Improvement.
- Work with cluster school personnel and communities to identify and plan activities, which are appropriate to the needs identified from field assessments.
- Assist cluster school personnel, core groups and communities to organize and implement activities which have been determined as part of their annual planning.
- Assist with monitoring and evaluation efforts focused on access, quality and management.
Other Tasks
- Provide written schedules of planned activities each month.
- Report any irregularities in the implementation of project activities to supervisors.
- Provide reports and data to supervisors for purposes of regular reporting.
- Maintain proper files pertaining to all aspects of component programs.
- Perform other tasks that may be requested by the supervisor.
Jobs Requirement
- Degree in education
- Extensive experience in preparation of workshop or training
- High level of knowledge of problems solving and conflict solution
- Computer literacy(Ms. word, Ms. excel)
- Experience in working with school development and community
- Experience in teaching or training others
- Experience managing and supporting schools in remote locations
- Ability to use English and Khmer languages
- Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work in a team, experience in teamwork desired
- Demonstrated high level of honesty and trustworthiness essential
